STRONG TRADE ON FIRST DAY OF DBS PREMIER SALES
Purchasers expressed ‘frustration’ on the first day of the DBS Premier Yearling Sales when a strong trade resulted in many of the popular Lots proving very difficult to buy, which helped to return a set of figures that were on a par with the same session last year. An average of £27,457 was matched by an aggregate of £5,134,500 that was coupled with a median of £21,000 and a clearance rate of 82%, whilst four Lots made over £100,000.Read more

LONHRO COLT TOPS FUTURE STARS FOR BC3
The BC3 Future Stars Sale was held at Oaklands today, where 13 horses changed hands for a total of $1,154,000.
A Lonhro half-brother to yesterday’s Group 3 Up And Coming Stakes winner Blackball sold to a client of Victorian trainer John McArdle for $220,000. The colt is from the Grand Lodge mare Excommunicate from the family of former Woodlands Stud topliners Hosannah and Holy Roller.

The Sirecam Champion Victorian Stallion was won by Eliza Park resident Bel Esprit for the third

TOTAL GROSS UP 42 PER CENT AS NATIONAL SALE CONCLUDES
Almost $700,000 was traded on the final day of the Magic Millions National Sale at the Gold Coast today, bringing to an end the record breaking event.
The final session of the National Yearling Sale grossed over $319,000 on 72 lots sold - while the National Racehorse Sale brought in another $380,000 on 40 sales.

The 2010 Magic Millions National Weanling Sale has made an outstanding start with increases across the board during today's first session at the Gold Coast.
Highlighted by the sale of a lovely Encosta de Lago colt for $300,000, the session saw last year's figures for the corresponding session smashed in what was an outstanding day's selling.

HUGE SESSION II INCREASES AS PREMIER CONCLUDES
The upward trend of the 2010 Melbourne Premier Sale continued throughout the final day, with Session II statistics improving a staggering 50% from 12 months ago.
In all, 108 horses sold today for a gross of $3,001,500 – a hefty rise on last year’s figure of $2,009,000.
Today’s average of $27,792 represented a 46.6% increase in the corresponding session from 2009.

BIG INCREASES IN TASSIE AS DERBY CONNECTIONS STRIKE
Hobart based thoroughbred owner Paul Geard made his presence felt at today's 2010 Magic Millions Tasmanian Yearling Sale by purchasing the top two priced lots of the auction.
Early in the sale Geard and his wife Elizabeth paid $67,500 for the Dash for Cash half brother to recent Flemington stakes winner Silver Bullion.

The 2010 Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale came to a close at Belmont today with healthy increases again across the board.
Astute buyers seeking great value for money were out in force at the sale complex today competing for a lovely line up of prospective gallopers.
